The Macau TechDonation Programme is operated by The Hong Kong Council of Social Services (HKCSS), and was launched in partnership with TechSoup in January 2009. Besides Macau, HKCSS also runs the TechDonation programme in Hong Kong since December 2007. HKCSS was established in 1947, with clear vision and professional expertise, non-governmental welfare agencies committed to sustain and develop social welfare in Hong Kong. HKCSS is an umbrella organization of over 350 Agency Members, that provide over 90% of the social welfare services for those in need through their 3,000 service units all over Hong Kong.

What do they do?
SKH Macau Social Service Coordination Office was formally incorporated in 1997. Their initial services included dental services, physical therapy seminars, and consulting, language schools for new immigrants and volunteer training. As the social services of Macau developed more and more rapidly, the SKH Macau Social Service Coordination Office started to respond to the changing needs of the community by offering different types of youth services. Today, it has different service units and mainly serves youth and their parents.

The outcome?
SKH strives to organize youth activities and establish technology centers to enhance youth’s interest in learning and self-enhancement. As the demand for youth service is large, SKH continues to set up additional centers, and install new computer hardware and software. The donation of MS Office and server software via TechDonation helped keep their IT expenses in check.

What do they do?
Richmond Fellowship of Macau was established in November 1992. It’s headquarters are located in , in the United Kingdom. It is a registered nonprofit welfare organization that provides self-care training, vocational training, social and recreational activities such as a wide range of community support services to individuals with mental disabilities. The organization currently has a membership of more than 6,000 individuals.

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007

The outcome?
Macau Social Welfare Bureau had provided funds to the organizations to buy computers for its membership computer lab, but this did not fund the software. The donated Microsoft Office software that The Richmond Fellowship of Macau received via TechDonation helped the organization put the hardware to good use. The organization’s members are now able to use the word processing software in the center’s computer lab.
